Chocolate Cherry Pineapple Dump Cake

A tasty and moist treat that is dairy free. We were in need of a dairy free holiday treat last weekend and this was just the trick.

You can do this either non-diary or with diary depending on the ingredients you chose. I  went with a margarine and a cake mix that both were dairy free but if food allergies are not an issue for your family, almost any cake mix and margarine/butter will do.

Rating
About a 4.5 really.

Notes: Most dump cakes use white or yellow mix but I substituted chocolate just for a special holiday boost. Go with the flavor of your choice. Anything will be good.

I started with dairy free products.  Both the cake mix and the Fleischmann's Unsalted are dairy free but always check the labels on what you buy if you're dealing with food allergy. Preheat oven to 350 convection.
Using about a tablespoon of margarine, lightly grease a 9 by 13 cake pan.
Empty a large (20 oz) can of crushed pineapple and spread evenly in the pan. Add a can of pre-made cherry pie felling and spread.
Distribute the dry cake mix over the top of the fruit. Then top with 6 oz of walnuts.
Cut the the remainder of the stick of margarine into 1/4 inch thick pats and distribute evenly over the cake.
Bake at 350 convection for about one hour.
