Raspberry Splenda Lemonade One Glass at a Time

One glass at a time. Made from what you already have on hand and compatible with any diet. And tastes great too.
If you don't care about a few (193-24=169 more) additional calories then sugar can be substituted for the Splenda.

Lesson learned... always listen to your wife. I wanted to add raspberry flavor to my Splenda lemonade. My first shot was 2 teaspoons of raspberry jam. Too tart and not enough raspberry (I had to tell her it was raspberry). Plus I'm using Splenda to decrease simple carbs and then add 10 grams of sugar with the jam???

She suggested raspberry tea. Hummmm... I didn't and wouldn't have though of that. Worked Great.

Rating:

Notes: I decreased the ReaLemon by 50% since the raspberry tea added a lot of flavor. That got rid of wifo's tart issue. I used hot water from out hot water dispenser. My picture is with a 1 cup Pyrex cup and then I need to add 1/2 cup more of water with the ice so I simplified the recipe by just using 1 1/2 cup of hot water.

Calorie notes: ReaLemon and Splenda have more calories than they lead you to believe. Apparently if a "serving" is less than 5 calories, they can list it as zero. What I can find is that a cup of Granulated Splenda  is 96 calories (http://www26.netrition.com/splenda_page.html#howlow). And ReaLemon is just reconstituted lemon juice that is 61 calories per cup (http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-lemon-juice-i9152).
So the total for this very large glass of just under 40 calories.

Ingredients:
1 Raspberry herbal tea bag
1/4 cup Granulated Splenda (Sugar if you don't care about the calories)
1/4 cup ReaLemon
1 1/2 cups water-near boiling hot
2 cup ice cubes

Instructions:
1) Add tea bag to 1 1/2 cup very hot water for 5 minutes. I used a hot water dispenser or you can boil or microwave the water.
2) Mix tea, Splenda and ReaLemon in a large class.
3) Add ice

Notes: 1/4 cup granulated Splenda is equal to 6 packets. I believe that different people perceive the sweetness of Splenda differently.
