Roasted chicken can be blaaaaa. I mean bland, no boring, no I really don't know the word I want but I think you know what I mean. Sometimes it's what you want but not always. I wanted a spiced up crisp skin roasted chicken that popped some. Kind of a rotisserie chicken with spice and crispiness at home with only a little work.

Simple Everyday Roast Chicken with Gravy

This is very close to that "ideal" recipe of just throw something in the oven and have it come out great. Based on a Cooks Illustrated recipe called Weeknight Roast Chicken. I took the technique and added some of my 7:2:1 garlic season and got a recipe you can do on a weeknight or for Sunday dinner for the family.

Alabama BBQ Chicken with White BBQ sauce

They eat really good in Alabama. This is a Cooks Country recipe but really it is all over the net with only minor variations. I'm just pointing it out to you.

CC used half chickens and I used pre-cut whole chicken for my convenience. It did cook a lot faster, making this in about an hour including soaking some wood chips and preheating the grill.
