Garlic Chicken Marinara Sauce in 30 Minutes

Garlic Chicken Marinara Sauce in 30 Minutes from 101 Cooking For Two
Yummers according to my wife. Somewhat inspired by an ATK recipe called Simple Red Sauce that is a quick flavorful marinara which they state will cook in about the time of cooking the pasta. The only trouble was no meat. We are meatasauruses at this house and chicken is the favorite. So instead of about 15 minutes, it took 30 minutes. Not bad, not bad at all.

Stand Mixer Whole Wheat French Bread

What good is a KitchenAid stand mixer if it doesn't do the work for you? Since awarding my Julia Child's Bread the #1 rating for 2010, I have though of repeating it but now I wanted minimal work with some whole wheat for a healthier outcome.

With minimal hand kneading (that you can probably skip if you're morally opposed to manual work) this is for the lazy out there. I used the Julia recipe as a guide. I sub in a cup of whole wheat flour and upped the water to make up for that.

Lower Fat Healthier Cheesecake

Is there a true low fat cheesecake or a healthy cheesecake? Just think of them as relative terms.

With great heavy texture and taste, you won't be able to tell this from the evil full fat type.  This is a version of an ATK New York style cheesecake from several years ago on a show called Lighter Desserts. I have had the recipe for several years in PDF form in my to try folder and several version are out there on the internet.

Crockpot Southwest Pork Tenderloin Chili - A Low Fat Wonderful Thing

I have always said that pork and Mexican are made to go together. Well, I just proved it again. With only 10 minutes of prep, a crock pot and 8 hours, you can have a very healthy wonderful taste meal.

With only about 3-4 grams of fat per serving this will fit any diet. But I don't want you to think of this as a diet dish. This will blow any other chili out of the water on taste.

Simple Crock Pot Chicken Stew

Simple Crock Pot Chicken Stew from 101 Cooking For Two
The idea of a crock pot is to make your life easier. Not much is easier than this family pleasing stew. Using things you probably have on hand anyways, you spend about 10 to 15 minutes prep time and eat in 8 hours.

The Top 10 For 2010 - Part 2 - My Picks

Part 1 was easy. Just check the Google stats and you know your 10 most popular. Part 2 is harder. It's somewhat like picking your favorite child and then ranking them. But here I good...

#10 An oldy but goody at my house. Great taste in a simple and healthy recipe.

#9 The ultra easy fries.  A not so healthy but very tasty recipe.

#8 Listed as the top Mac and Cheese by Alton Brown  in Food Network's "America's Best: Top 10 Comfort Foods" from Zingerman's Roadhouse in Ann Arbor.

#7 I don't do a lot of sweets so when I do it has to be great and this was.

#6  I love white chili with chicken and this is the best I have ever tasted.

#5  Another soup that is not just wonderful but also wonderfully simple.

# 4  My wife's Mom's Day treat. Very evil with a zillion calorie and a ton of fat. But you only live once and blueberries have antioxidants right.

#3 This has been listed as my "one must try recipe" and I'm leaving it there. Any of the top 3 could be there.  This is the only overlap from the most popular posts.

#2  The phrase I use for this BBQ sauce is that it could make cardboard taste good.

#1 Julia Child's French Bread is the ultimate in Artist Breads. A wonderful loaf, simplified and the best bread I have ever had and not hard nor complicated to make.

A bonus if you got this far. Here are a few other top ten lists from other bloggers. Give them a try and if you like what you see, become a follower and give them a click.

The Top 10 For 2010 - Part 1 - The Most Popular

So I wanted to do a top 10 list but how? Do I do my picks or the most popular. Well I couldn't decide so I will do both. First the most popular post. In part two we will do my choices for the best for 2010.

#10 Popular because nobody will just give a simple ratio for this. A one glass at a time recipe with things you have on hand. I though this was a stupid thing to post but it has been very popular.

#9  This took off after Christmas. A lot of left overs out there. It was great tasting and easy.

#8   A very nice and easy grilling recipe.

#7  This is an oven based recipe that is oh so simple and good. I have been using this one for years.

#6  Very nice and simple

#5 This is what I consider my one must try recipe. Absolutely wonderful.

#4 A very popular Google search landing point. That is one ugly picture...I'm sure none of you would need this.

#3 Lots of taste for very little work. A week night recipe that I do frequently.

#2  A recipe I do over and over in the summer because I'm lazy and love good food.

#1   A great choice, a quick and healthy make ahead start for your morning. Great taste, soft texture with flexibility of components. And oh so easy to make.

Focaccia Bread is So Easy

An easy recipe if you have a stand mixer. I had several recipes for Focaccia bread saved in my to do link files but really didn't get inspired until Noble Pig published their top 10 for the year. I looked back at the other recipes but the Noble Pig one appeared to fit my needs.
